Bob Korth Wins Dyno-thane Grand Finals Print E-mail
Bob Korth bowled in his final tournament as director of the Dyno-Thane Southern Oregon Senior Tournament on Sunday May 13th, 2006. Five years after starting the organization Bob is turning the reins over to Dan Fairchild. So the Grand finals of the Southern Oregon Seniors was his last tournament to run and Bob finished his run in a spectacular way by winning it. The Grand Finals were sponsored by Cliff's Trophies in Yreka, Ca. and by Klamath Motor Lodge and also Tj's Place in Medford, Oregon. A special thanks to Dyno-Thane High performance balls and Dynoroos the best bowling shoe on the planet our major sponsor. On Saturday we held an 8 game qualifier and Dan Fairchild soon to be our new director was on fire. Dan averaged 253 for 8 games to blow by everyone for the first day lead. Dan shot a staggering 2031 for 8 and led 2nd place Randy Cochran by 149 pins. During the Saturday block Mick Prulhiere shot a 298 and Chuck Eilenberger had a 299. On Sunday Dan lost his stroke a bit and Bob found his.

After a slow start Bob shot 805 the 4th thru 6th games to tie Doug Nowlin for the firs round lead. After a short break Bob came back to win all 6 of his matches in the last block winning 11 of 12 in all. Bob led 2nd place Doug Nowlin by 156 pins. Bob had 3223 with his 330 bonus pins to Doug's 3067 with his 240 bonus pins. In the Finals Randy Cochran def. Mick Prulhiere 248 to 209. Chuck Eilenberger def. Randy 277 to 227. Then things tightened up Doug Nowlin had a chance to beat Chuck in the tenth frame with a double but counted nine on the 2nd ball to lose 205 to 201. In the last match Chuck led the first 6 frames the Bob Korth came back to take a small lead. Chuck needed the first strike in the 10th to win but had a 9 count and Bob won the game and tournament 238 to 236.

This was Bob's 2nd finals tournament win in 2 weeks both times using a Dyno-Thane Centrifugal Mass. Congratulations to all the winners this year we will see you next year and be bigger and better.
