Chris Black Wins MJMA, $650 in Scholarships |

BGSU Firelands Branch student Chris Black from Port Clinton won his 3rd MJMA (Michigan Junior Masters Association) Bowling Tournament, and 2nd of the season at AMF Sturgis Lanes in Sturgis, Mi. this weekend.
Chris dominated the field of 96 youth entries by being the leading qualifier on a difficult PBA Lane Condition with an 8 game total of 1761 (220 average on games of 192-215-192-224-224-232-214-268) to lead by 76 pins. He won 8 out of 12 matchplay games Sunday to be the leader going into the stepladder finals, where he defeated Ryan VanHecke from Sterling Hts., Mi. in the Championship round 191-170.
Chris was the only player to average 200 for the tournament (204.9 for 20 games), and earned $600.00 in scholarships for the win + $50.00 for being leading qualifier.
Chris also moved into 5th place in the annual MJMA Point Standings, and is also 5th in JTBA Points in Ohio.
Jason Wunderlich from Homestead, Pa. finished 3rd (and 2nd in average with 197.4) and Team USA Bowler Ronnie Sparks, Jr. from Wayne, Mi finished 5th.
Chris used the Thing Lives, Pure Energy, and the new Element Zr40.
