Events Impacting Scoring Print E-mail
The link at the end of this announcement will bring you to a presentation depicting the history of events that have or could have impacted scoring. The time line starts with the first bowling center and continues through modern times. It shows the amount of bowlers per award score or strength of play versus award scores of 298, 299, and 300. As you can see it fluctuates dramatically as changes were made.

The purpose of this was to point out that over time the governing body has made many changes that has lead us to the state we are currently in. Now the USBC is proposing additional changes regarding balance holes and cg shifts etc. Based on their past performances, I'm not confident that they have done their homework and can predict the impact of their decision to every facet of the industry. Rest assured if they pass these rules everyone will be impacted, recreation bowlers up to touring professionals. (Provided the PBA, which is not USBC sanctioned, adheres and it is possible that the PBA will not endorse these changes.)

This presentation was not designed to be the "catch all" for all the industry scoring problems, but it has some glaring points and is also somewhat humorous. Enjoy it!

Regards,
Phil Cardinale, Dyno-thane Owner
