Kevin Black Wins Ottman Memorial Scholarship Award Print E-mail
Port Clinton's Kevin Black was the 2nd recepient of the $1,000.00 2006 Dan Ottman Memorial Scholarship Award. This award is dedicated to the ideals, beliefs, and memory of Dan Ottman.

Dan Ottman was the founder of the Michigan Junior Masters Bowling Association which has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships in youth tournament competition since 1986. Ottman suddenly passed away the evening before the first tournament in 2005. Ottman, who was an outstanding bowler and PBA Regional Director, encouraged his youth bowlers to dress and act like professionals, work hard to improve their games, and to strive for academic achievement.

Kevin will be a sophomore at Bowling Green State University this fall. Twin brother Chris Black was the first recepient of the Ottman Memorial Scholarship Award. They are the sons of Bob and Margaret Black from Port Clinton.

Congrats to Kevin from the staff at Dyno-thane!

BGSU Firelands Branch student Chris Black from Port Clinton won his 3rd MJMA (Michigan Junior Masters Association) Bowling Tournament, and 2nd of the season at AMF Sturgis Lanes in Sturgis, Mi. this weekend.

Chris dominated the field of 96 youth entries by being the leading qualifier on a difficult PBA Lane Condition with an 8 game total of 1761 (220 average on games of 192-215-192-224-224-232-214-268) to lead by 76 pins. He won 8 out of 12 matchplay games Sunday to be the leader going into the stepladder finals, where he defeated Ryan VanHecke from Sterling Hts., Mi. in the Championship round 191-170.

Ted Pritts and the Centrifugal Mass Print E-mail
Bowling in the Boys Nite Out League at AMF Showplace Lanes in Garland, Texas, Ted Pritts proved how massive his strike ball really is. He fired games of 300, 299, and 258 far an outstanding 857 with his new Centrifugal Mass.

Ted says, "I have never thrown a ball with this much movement and still keep the pins low. It hits the pins with controlled fury. I would recommend the Centrifugal Mass to anyone, this is one of the best balls around."

The Centrifugal Mass was drilled less than a week ago and has approximately 24 games on it. Since then, he has rolled two 300 games and one 299 game. Not a bad start, Ted!
